Boise, ID – Cradlepoint, the global leader in 4G LTE WAN networking solutions for distributed enterprises, announced today that it has expanded its WWAN platform with the introduction of its AER 3100 solution. Cradlepoint’s AER platform is the industry’s most robust cellular WAN management application system, and is the only 4G LTE network platform to offer dual-modem multi-carrier support, integrated Gb Ethernet switch with POE, 802.11ac 3×3 Wi-Fi, and Unified Threat Management (UTM) capabilities. The cloud-delivered AER 3100 solution provides an all-in-one networking and security solution to meet the growing needs of today’s small, micro, and mobile branch networks.

“More businesses are relying on cloud-based applications to increase productivity and boost customer engagement and quality of service. However, many organizations, especially those with widely distributed branch locations, are challenged by modern networking issues like rising connectivity costs, wired Internet outages, and new compliance standards,” said Jim Rapoza, senior research analyst with the Aberdeen Group. “The ability to deploy a single, cloud-delivered, wireless connectivity platform at the edge can increase redundancy and the ability for businesses to maintain reliable, secure connections with headquarters and customers. With this kind of capability, businesses can set themselves up to potentially worry less about network performance and be able to focus on achieving core goals.”

The dual modem feature in the Cradlepoint AER platform empowers businesses with flexible support for redundant 4G WAN connections or integrated wired/wireless (hybrid) WAN environments. For hybrid deployments, a single versatile platform provides wired primary connectivity and wireless failover and supports multiple carriers to reduce infrastructure complexity and secure the coveted 99.99%+ uptime. Alternatively, the second modem could be leveraged to add burst bandwidth for peak capacity periods or for other customer applications. For many retailers, this isolated secure WAN provides the support needed for new customer engagement approaches that can build a valuable foundation for the store of the future without being on the same WAN as the secure point of sale systems.

Regardless of which WAN approach a business takes, the AER portfolio with Cradlepoint’s Enterprise Cloud Manager (ECM) allows network administrators to deploy with zero-touch configuration, then remotely manage and monitor those branch locations in real-time from a single software platform while maintaining PCI compliance in every segment of the network.

“The broadening of our WWAN platform validates our commitment to our enterprise customers in delivering flexible solutions to address today’s network demands and business expansion needs of tomorrow,” said Ian Pennell, CMO for Cradlepoint. “The solution helps businesses simplify their next-generation network roll-outs with the worlds most proven 4G technology platform, WAN resilience, and trusted security. As a result, businesses can quickly and easily roll out new customer initiatives and know they have the bandwidth and security covered.”
